Parts 1 through 9 covered how to read your data. Part 10 covers how to present it to someone who won't log into the platform.
Your CMO doesn't need a tour of the Dashboard. They need to understand why AI visibility matters to the business, what's at risk if it erodes, and what you're doing about it. The data in Operyn supports that conversation, but only if you can translate it effectively.
Start with What's at Stake
The instinct when presenting new data is to explain the metrics first. A CMO who doesn't yet see AI visibility as a business problem will lose interest before you get to the numbers.
Start with the channel shift: a growing share of your buyers are getting answers from AI models before they reach your website. When an AI model answers a product comparison query, the buyer may never search further. If your brand isn't in that response, you don't get a chance to compete. If your brand is mentioned but a competitor's URL is cited, the buyer gets their source of truth from your competitor's content.
That is the revenue risk. State it before you open a single chart.
The Three Metrics That Translate
Most of the metrics in Operyn are diagnostic. Three translate into business language.
Brand Visibility. This is the percentage of AI responses where your brand appears. Frame it as reach: out of every hundred AI answers about your category, your brand is present in this many. A declining trend is a shrinking share of the conversation your buyers are having before they make contact with you.
Citation Rate. This is the percentage of responses where your brand is cited as a source. Frame it as authority: when AI models mention your brand, this is how often they back it up with a URL. A low Citation Rate relative to Mention Rate means your brand is recognized but not treated as a credible source. That gap is the difference between being named and being trusted.
Competitor SOV gap. Pull the Brand Performance table from the Competition module. The difference between your Share of Voice and your nearest competitor's is the margin you are defending or closing. A competitor gaining SOV in a high-value topic cluster is a forward-looking revenue signal, not just a vanity metric.
Semantic Perception as Brand Risk
Brand Visibility and Citation Rate measure presence and authority. The Sentiment tab in AI Response Insights measures something different: how AI models characterize your brand relative to competitors in the same response.
On AI Response Insights module, select a consideration-intent query, and go to the Sentiment tab. Look at the positive keyword cloud for your brand, then compare it against how competitors are described in the AI Responses tab. If AI models describe your brand with attributes like "affordable" or "accessible" while describing a competitor as "enterprise-grade" or "industry-leading," that is a brand positioning gap being reinforced every time the model answers that query.
Frame this for the CMO as a brand risk, not a content problem. The AI model has formed an association about where your brand sits in the market. Every buyer who asks that question gets that framing. Correcting it requires content that substantiates a different positioning, not just more content volume.
Hallucinations at the Conversion Layer
The most urgent risk to present is one most CMOs haven't considered: AI models answering conversion-intent queries with inaccurate information about your product.
Filter AI Response Insights to your conversion-intent queries: pricing comparisons, feature evaluations, product-specific questions. Read the raw responses in the AI Responses tab. Look for outdated pricing, missing features, or claims about your product that aren't accurate. When a buyer asks an AI model whether your product does something it does, and the model says it doesn't, that query ends the consideration before your sales team gets involved.
This framing lands with CMOs because it is concrete. It is not a trend to monitor. It is interference in the purchase process. Showing a single example of a hallucination on a conversion-intent query is often more persuasive than a full visibility report.
Framing the Risk
The data becomes a business conversation when you connect it to pipeline. Two frames work well:
Topic-to-pipeline mapping. Take your highest-value topics from a pipeline perspective, the ones where deals close, and cross-reference them with your Topic Battlegrounds data. If a competitor leads on mentions in a topic cluster that drives a large share of your pipeline, that is a risk worth quantifying. You don't need to attribute lost deals to AI visibility to make the case. The pattern is enough.
Trend direction. A single snapshot of Brand Visibility at 82% is hard to act on. A declining trend over 90 days in a specific topic cluster is a different conversation. Use the time-series data in the Dashboard and Citations module to show direction, not just position. A CMO will respond to a trend that looks like it's moving the wrong way more than to a static number.
What to Bring to the Meeting
A one-page summary is enough. Lead with Brand Visibility trend over 90 days. Add the SOV gap against your nearest competitor. Highlight any topic cluster where competitor mentions are growing faster than yours. Close with the content investment you're proposing and which topics it targets.
The goal is not to explain Operyn. The goal is to establish AI visibility as a channel that deserves a budget line, the same way search did a decade ago. The data in Operyn makes that case. Your job is to connect the data to the business outcome so the CMO doesn't have to do it themselves.
